Delightful Decorations

Well it's time to start thinking about your
Christmas cards for this year. Do you believe it, Christmas is only 7 weeks away. So, to get your creative juices flowing, I will try and post several Christmas card ideas over the next 2 weeks. I love making Christmas cards for friends, family and clients. It gets me into the holiday spirit and hopefully this holiday mood will carry me through to the cold month of January. If not, maybe the Packers will!!

For this Christmas card I used the stamp set 'Delightful Decorations' and the Ornament punch along with the Sizzix BigZ Top Note die.

Stay posted for more Christmas card ideas.

Gently Falling Again!

I was so inspired by the changing colors of
the leaves that I had to make another card
using Gently Falling stamp set. Hopefully,
fall will stay around awhile longer so we can
continue to enjoy this crisp weather and not
snow.

The inspiration for this card came from another
Stampin' Up demonstration and I just had to
make it to share with you. I used sponges and ink pads to create the background on Very Vanilla card stock. Blending several complimentary colors can create a wonderful background. I used Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie and More Mustard to create the background.

So get your stamp pads and sponges out and make a Thanksgiving card for a friend or love one.

Gently Falling - Part 3

For my third card, I used the Elegant Lines embossing folder for the background. Also, I used a stripe of brown glitter paper to add a hint of pizazz.

Gently Falling - Part 2

For this card, I used the polka dot embossing folder for the background and chocolate chip velvet ribbon.

Gently Falling

I have been playing around with one of my new stamp sets called "Gently Falling". It is in the new Holiday Mini. It is turning out to be one of my favorite's. It a two stamp process to complete each image. One stamp for the outline and the second for the color.

For this card I used Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, More Mustard and Tempting Turquoise card stock and stamp pads.

I will be posting two more cards using this set shortly.

Notably Ornate

I guess I'm on a roll today, two posts in one day, lol. I'm watching the Vikings and Lion's game while patiently waiting for the Packer game to start. The craft fair yesterday was not so good. It started raining at 6:30 AM while we were setting up and did not stop until 2 PM which was one hour before the craft fair ended. I did appreciate all those who came out in the rain anyway, especially my friends and daughter. It made the rain tolerable. Thank you all.

Now, to the 2nd card of the day. I bought this stamp set (Notably Ornate) with a scrapbook page in mind but thought I would try some cards with it. For some reason the scanner did some funny things with the black outline, trust me it is prettier in person.

BOO!

I saw a Halloween card similar to this on the SU demonstrator's Web Site. I just had to try my hand at it. It was fast and easy to make with the "Spider Web" embossing folder and punches by Stampin' Up. It will make a great Halloween card for one of my Grandson's.

Sunflower

Well, with the weather changing from warm to cold then back to warm and now cold again, I got a head cold. Hate, hate being sick! Just feeling sorry for myself, cause I know nobody else likes being sick either, lol.

Soooo, let's get back to the reason for this post. I was playing around with my large Sunflower stamp and thought I would share with you the card I made. The photo doesn't do justice to this card. I used Basic Black, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White.

Guess I will go to bed now and get some sleep. Hopefully, I can get rid of this cold fast. I have a craft show next Saturday that I need to get ready for.

Batty For you

Where has the summer gone? The start of Fall is in 2 weeks. Kids are back to school and I am planning which craft fairs I will be participating in. I do love the fall weather, shorts and a sweatshirt is my favorite attire. With fall, comes Halloween so you need to start planning which cards you are going to create. I love to send my grandchildren cards for every occasion. I created a folder on my computer a couple of years ago of all the cards I make for family. Don't want to repeat a card, lol.

For this card, I wanted to use up some of my retired designer series paper. I like how each piece of Stampin' Up's Designer Series Paper coordinates with each other. Makes it so easy to create a card or scrapbook page.

The stamp set Batty For You has been around for a while and I hope it doesn't retire next year. For now I am going to keep using is as much as possible, just in case. I used Basic Black, Old Olive, Whisper White and retired DSP to create this card. The wiggly eyes I think is a cute addition. Hope you like it.

2nd Brewer's layout

I did a second layout to complete my grandson's memory of his first Brewer's game.

The card stock used to complete these pages was More Mustard, Real Red, Whisper White and Night of Navy.

Go Brewers Go

With the Milwaukee Brewers in the

pennant race and doing well, I thought

I would share the scrapbook layout we

did at one of our scrapbook classes. This was my Grandson's first Brewer's game. I picked up the Brewer's logo at a rummage sale. I was so excited when I found them.

Because I care

The stamp set Because I Care is retired but I wanted to show you how an embossing folder can add a new dimension to your card making. Stampin' Up has some beautiful embossing folders.

Punch Art

I saw this card on my Demo web site and thought I would give it a try. You use various circle punches, small heart and flower punch. I also used a scallop circle to create the sky background.

I wonder if I should name him, lol!

Hooked on Fishing

This is another scrapbook page we completed in July. For me, documenting moments in my grandchildren's lives is very rewarding. Jayden's first time fishing and he was hooked, just like his Mom.

Mom's Day

I thought I would share a few of our scrapbook pages we completed at our July class. We had a great time as usual!

I did this layout to celebrate Mother's Day with my Mom. We all enjoyed Chinese for lunch. It was a good day for Great-Grandma.

Build a Blossom

I think I have a new favorite stamp set.
It was an easy card to make. You stamp the blossoms on Whisper White card stock, cut them out and put the petals together on a 1 3/8" circle base. I used the Sizzix polka dot embossing folder for the background and Sizzix's Little Leaves embosslit. The colors in the card are Whisper White, Night of Navy and Daffodil Delight.

Hope you like it as much as I do!

Happy Birthday, Kim

Last week was my daughter Kim's birthday. I am always looking for different techniques to use when creating a family member's birthday card. For Kim's this year I used chipboard to create the letter 'K'. I flipped the chipboard letter over and on the opposite side of the DSP I traced the letter, cut it out and then glued the two together using SU's glue stick. To smooth out the edges I used the Stampin' Up's Distressing Essentials tool kit.

Fabulous Florets

One of my favorite stamp sets from the
Summer mini is Fabulous Florets. The
First Addition DSP compliments the Real Red
and Basic Black card stock. I stamped the image on Whisper White card stock and then stamped the florets again and colored them in. For the center of the flowers I like to use Stickles to add a little pizazz.

Heartfelt Thanks

Today's thank you card was made using the retired set, Heartfelt Thanks. I was sorry to see this set retire.

I like to have thank you cards on hand so when I need to thank someone for a kindness I have them available. I feel it is more personal to send a card then an email, don't you?

Because I Care

I can't believe it's been 3 months since my last post. So sorry for that. I will try to do better in the future.

This card was made using the Stampin' Up stamp set "Because I Care". It is a level I hostess set in the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog. It's a great set for all occasion cards.

Hope you like it.

Go Pack Go

Okay, this isn't a Stampin' Up set but I have
to support our Packers. I can not wait for the game on Sunday. I will be glued to the TV like everyone else in Wisconsin.

Soooooooooooo

all I am going to say is:

GO PACK GO!!!!!

Upsy Daisy

I was looking to make a quick birthday card for a friend, so I grabbed my Upsy Daisy stamp set. I love using basic black ink on whisper white card stock, so I was pleased with the way it turned out. I keep learning that you don't have to spend an hour making a card to have it be good.
