Let it Snow! - My thoughts for today

One thing about retirement you don't have to go anywhere when it snows! Here we are in Wisconsin on March 21st, and we have snow. Not just flurries, but we are expecting anywhere from 6 to 12 inches of more SNOW. You know that pretty white stuff that we hope for on Christmas Eve but come the day after Christmas you wish it was gone. Yesterday was the 1st day of Spring, today is Good Friday and we have snow. GOT TO LOVE WISCONSIN!! Here's a picture from my front door at 10:40 AM today. Thought I would share. Well this will give me time to do some stamping and post ideas this weekend. To all my friends and family out there, be safe and take it easy on the roads today if you have to drive in this weather.

Live your Dream - Occasions Mini

Worked on a few quick cards using Live Your Dreams. Thought I would share.

Paper clip bookmark

Sorry there hasn't been any updates in a week. Unexpected family illness required me to watch my Grandson for 3 days. We are very lucky and at the moment all is well. So I am back!

This is my 1st attempt at a paperclip bookmark. Not bad for my first but I am going to try a few more designs this week and will share them with you.

I found these jumbo sized paperclips at Wal-mart, 12 for under $2. I used the following:
Paper: Whisper white, barely Banana, and old olive.
Ink: Regal Rose and Old Olive
Accessories: 3/8" punch, silver brad and glue dots

Live Your Dreams

Sometimes I like to make quick and easy cards so I have them available on a moments notice. Live Your Dreams stamp set is a great set for any occasion, birthday, thank you or get well. Don't forget the inside of the card. You can hand write your own sentiment or use a stamp set. Either way it only takes an extra 10 minutes to finish the card.
Stamp sets: Live your Dreams, So many scallops, Sincere Salutations and Curvy Verses.
Paper: Old Olive and Whisper White
Ink pads: Rose Red and Old Olive
Accessories: Old olive and rose red markers, Old Olive polytwill ribbon
Hope you like it.

Polka Dot and Paisley Take 2

I posted this card previously but thought something was missing, so I trimmed the card and added a black background. I think I like it better this way. The black back ground brings out the polka dots more and show the design better. What do you think?

Blooms Die Cuts

I am so excited!! I just bought the Janome mini sewing maching and had to try it on a card. The idea for the card came from SU but their card was a little boring so I added a strip of old olive and stitched it. I need more practice on the sewing part, but love the affect. I have been looking for a mini sewing machine for over a year and saw an ad from Handcock fabrics with this machine. It weighs only 5 lbs. and does straight and zig zag stitches plus reverse. Being a Janome I was hoping it had the same quality as their regular machines and I was right. Now I can take it to workshops if I want. This card only took a 1/2 hour to make.
Paper: In Color Sky Blue
Ink: Sky Blue and Basic Black
SU Glue dots
From the new Occasions Mini Catalog:
Stamp Set: Live your Dream, Die-cut Blooms, Old Olive Polytwill Ribbon and Hodgepodge Hareware's new color Styled Silver
