We are attending a wedding this afternoon so I thought it only appropriate that I share a wedding card this morning. I have seen many versions of this card and I love them all. I think adding layers takes a card to the next level of elegance. I also happen to like using Whisper White and Basic Black card stock for my wedding cards.
Stay tune! I will publish the card I made for the wedding we are attending today with you tomorrow. I used the new Mr. and Mrs. stamp from Stampin' Up.
I thought I would share a similar graduation card to one I made for a young friend of mine who just graduated from High School. You can make the card personal by customizing it using the correct school colors and adding the name of the high school and year to the front. I use a word document and my oval punches to add the personal information.
Memorial Day weekend is coming up and I thought it would nice to make a red, white and blue thank you. I found this idea on Pinterest and thought I would share with you my version of the card.
Make a few thank you cards ahead of time to send. A handmade card really does show your gratitude.
There are a few types of greeting cards that I like to make sure I always have on hand. One of them is thank you cards. I feel it is important to not only thank a family member or friend for a kind act verbally but to also follow up with a card. I try to always make mine handmade. For this sample I used a circle punch and the Square Lattice embossing folder.
I don't know about you but I love using embossing folders. On this card, I used Stampin' Up's new Textured Impressions Adorning Accents Embossing folder and the stamp set 'Bordering on Romance'. The stamped dots along the embossed edge is part of this stamp set along with the flowers I cut out. Hope my Mother likes it.
I've been working on a few things this past week and thought I should them share with you. I love exploring new ways to use the new Paper Doily (Lg. Sizzlit Die). Sometimes the simplest card can be the best for a solemn occasion. What do you think?
If you haven't tried any of the Textured Impressions Embossing Folders you should if you own a Sizzix BigKick, SideKick or Big Shot. This one is one of two of the Designer Frames by Stampin' Up.
One of the new Stampin' Up Sizzix dies is the Paper Doily. I really like this die but I will tell you up front that you need some patience when poking out all the cut out pieces. I will make 3 or 4 of the paper doilies and then poke out the pieces while I watch TV. In the end, it is worth the trouble because it is such a beautiful piece. I've really enjoyed finding different ways to use this die. I will add another example in the next few days.
My Grandson is down for a nap so I thought I would upload some cards I made recently. I think Lovely as a Tree from Stampin' Up is a very versatile stamp set. I used Soft Suede and Whisper White card stock.
Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Hope you are enjoying your day. My family is getting together tonight for a great dinner. I've recovered from my pneumonia and getting my card making groove back. I actually made Valentine's cards for my whole family. I thought I would post a couple of them for you.
Even though Christmas is over I just had to share with you this cute punched snowman. I saw this on the SU web site and wanted to try it. I just love how it turned out. Punches used were circle, oval, snowflake, heart to heart, word window, round tab and scallop edge border.
Sorry it's been a while since my last post. I got really sick after Christmas and ended up in the hospital. I picked up a viral infection from somewhere that turned into pneumonia. I still have some pneumonia in my lungs but I am a lot better then I was a week and half ago. So with that said, I am trying to get back into stamping slowly. This card uses some new products in the new Occasions mini. The stamp set is Bordering on Romance along with the new Textured Impressions Embossing folders, Adorning Accents on page 11 of the Occasions Mini.
I am retired from Rockwell Automation after 38 1/2 years. I am now a full time Stampin Up demonstrator. I'm married to a wonderful man, Doug and have 2 great kids, Scott and Kim. The loves of my life are my 2 grandsons, Jayden and Carson. You will see lots of them in my blog. I just adore them. I have been stamping and scrapbooking since 1998 when I attended my first Stampin Up workshop. I fell in love with stamping and SU products.
