Halloween Cards

I love sending cards to my Grandchildren. I thought I would share the cards I made for them last year using the stamp set "Batty For You" which is available in the
2010-2011 Stampin' Up Catalog. This one was for Carson's 1st Halloween.

It's October already!

My how time flies. I can not believe we are in the middle of October. I guess with the weather being so nice I keep denying the fact that Halloween is only 2 weeks away.
I made this card for a friend. The stamp set is retired from Stampin' Up. To make the moon in the background, What I wanted to show you is how I made the background. I punched a circle out of a post-it and attached it the the whisper white card stock. I then used a sponge and dabbed More Mustard and Pumpkin Pie all over. Once I had it the way I wanted, I removed the circle and stamped the haunted house with basic black on top.

Inspired By Nature

I saw this card done by another SU demonstrator and had to try it. Create a mask for the sun by punching out a 1" circle using a post-it note. The glue on the post-it will hold the circle in place while you brayer ink over the card stock. The
background card stock is Daffodil Delight and I used More Mustard ink to brayer over it. Remove the circle mask and stamp the grass using VersaMark and add white embossing powder to finish the grass. I added the 2 step x-lg punch for the bird and the sizzlet leaf die. Stamp your greeting in Chocolate Chip and you card is complete.
My son loved his birthday card.

Lovely as a Tree

I friend of mine gave me this stamp set a couple
of months ago. I was so excited to get it.
I created the background by taking a piece of

card stock and using my coluzzle oblong template I cut out the center. It them becomes a mask for the from of the card. I took a sponge and lightly dabbed some color along the edges moving towards the center. Leaving the template still in place I inked the tree stamp and "stamped off " on a scrap piece of paper to remove some of the ink and then stamped part of the tree inside the template. I repeated this step 2 more times. I removed the template and with a Chocolate Chip and Garden Green Stampin' Write markers I added color to the stamp, and stamped the full tree over the other tree images. Add your greeting and some ribbon and the card is complete. A simple but elegant card.

Hope you like it.
